Artist Community

Artists who embraced the beauty of this valley.

Drawn to this valley by the encouragement of Beverly and Bill Pepper, artists and museum collectors like Barbara Rose, her husband Frank Stella, Helen Whitney and to the house directly across the valley lived the painter, Al Held.
These artists all drew inspiration from this place and went on to make many of their most significant and memorable work in museum today.
Each were drawn to this sense of place. It was exactly what touched us when we first saw it.
Artists who rejuvenated here and went into their studios to create some of the most important American art. Many of which are in private and museum collections like the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

One of our friends, an official “machina blu” driver in Rome, came to take us to the airport in Fiumicino one morning and as he sat in the driveway he lifted his chin towards the valley and said, “How did you find this place?” Massimo would see all of central Italy in the areas around Rome and yet he never knew this place and how incredibly beautiful it is.
