New Years Eve at the Pantheon
One New Years Eve, we went to the Pantheon…
…and as we walked through those immense doors and looked up through the opening in the dome, there was a full moon framed perfectly in the middle. I could not believe it.
These are the experiences you have living in Italy. Like walking into Gubbio and asking ourselves, why is it deserted? Only to find that there was a Festival in the piazza. Flag throwing in medieval costumes and there were two seats available in the center. We might have taken the Mayor’s seats, but I was there with a camera and they let us just enjoy the show.
Or there was the time when we were at Michelangelo’s Capital in Rome and the 5oth Anniversary Parade for Enzo Ferrari drove right by us, not 10’ away.. I couldn’t believe it. All the cars he designed and built - even Michael Schumacher came through in his Ferrari F1 car. Mamma Mia. My jaw dropped.
